The pond, managed by the local fishing society, is a true haven of tranquility with a fish-farming vocation. Its intriguing name may come from a confusion between "fée" and "fie", which means "spruce" in Vosges dialect, echoing the dense forests that surround this natural area. On its banks, the Valtin's granitic soil creates ideal conditions for the development of a carpet of fine grasses, notably flexuous Canche, which adds a touch of magic to the landscape.

This fairytale setting evolves further into Callune and Blueberry moorland, reinforcing the wild and unspoilt atmosphere of the site.
